One was to strengthen my core to help eliminate my back problems. Check! Started a pilates class at the YMCA. Also, I wanted to start volunteering. I submitted an application, but haven't heard back yet. I'm working on knitting all my Christmas gifts, and I'm making headway on that. I've got one 5K under my belt and am training for another the end of this month, working up to a 15K in September. We got one more credit card paid off. I've started working more diligently on a book that has been in my head for a few years (I'd like to have it done by the end of 2010.)

I haven’t written out my goals like you have, but I did have some. We're trying to eat more whole foods and eliminate processed foods as well. I was reading about Crohn's disease, and I'm not surprised to read that it is found prominently in developed nations (where there are a lot of packaged foods) and that those that consume a high amount of processed foods will put you at greater risk for developing the disease. Of course, you have to have the auto-immune genetic component too, but I thought that was interesting, nevertheless. Dan won't watch Food, Inc. with me. He says he doesn't want to know what goes into the foods we eat. Out of site, out of mind I guess. I would love to try to eat more whole foods, fruits, veggies, and whole grains, but it's so hard when those are the things that Dan can't eat. Then, of course you have the money aspect of it too. I'd be interested in getting your thoughts on the book once you read it. It looks like a GREAT read. I may see if its at our library. Keep up the great job! Glad you're feeling better!

You go girl! I’m so proud of you guys! I had to add dairy back in because cutting it out, for me, was just too drastic, but I'm caffeine and sugar free right now, and that is a victory in itself!

I’ll be posting an update soon. I am having a VERY hard time with sweets and caffeine, though. I feel 100 times better but after eating for pleasure for so long, it's hard to just eat, you know? I'm getting the hang of it. I'm on day 3, which is 2.5 days longer than I thought I would last, so that's always a positive!

I have a new-found love of soy milk and don’t think I’ll go back to regular.
