Baby Step 1… DONE!

If you’re a Rebound listener, then you know that the hubby and I have been working Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps intensely for a few months now and I’m excited to say that we have funded our baby emergency fund, thus completing Baby Step 1!

We are now knee deep into Baby Step 2, paying off lots of debt and snowballing it until it’s gone.
We skipped recording the podcast last weekend, choosing instead to get a jumpstart on the baby steps, but we’ll be back on the mics this weekend. We’ll be talking about disconnecting, letting go of old ways and embracing change.
Then the following week, you’ll get to hear this incredible story about how the hubby and I were blessed with a second chance at this whole money thing and propelled to Baby Step 2 so quickly. It’s a crazy story and a testament to the power of putting God first in your life, your finances, and your marriage.

Congratulations! Due to some wonderful windfalls in hubby’s business, we were able to complete our baby emergency fund fairly quickly. We’re moving steadily through baby step 2, and hope/plan to be free of consumer debt by the end of November 2011.
Yay! It’s fun to count down to the end of BS2. I’m happy to be on this leg of the journey.
How exciting – that is amazing! I’m really happy for you guys and can’t wait for the next episode. I have one question for you…how in the world did you come up with such great stuff for your 101 things? I feel like I’ve gotten to a point that all I do is commute, work, make dinner, play mom that I have totally forgotten what I love to do and/or would even like to try some day. Kind of lost my sense of self if you will. I am amazed by your list – what a breath of fresh air!
You know, Dee, I was feeling the same way. That’s the reason I made that list. It took me a while to come up with all of it, but when I sat down and asked myself what things I would love to accomplish in this life, the most random yet fun-filled things came up. From there, I created the list.
If you decide to create your own list, you might find that you haven’t lost your sense of self as much as you may think! Then actually carrying out the tasks on the list helps you to rediscover who you are.
